Wow. It looks like the new smart bulbs from Ikea (that will be available in April 2017) work with the hue bridge. Does anyone has more info on it?

As far as I know, Ikea doesn’t have the colorful bulbs, so I assume the apps won’t be usable with Ikea TRÅDFRI. But the remotes could.

Very interesting. Just read about the IKEA TRÅDFRI bulbs here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3808182/Ikea-sell-smart-lightbulbs-controlled-without-getting-seat.html

And in deed it is able to connect to the hue bridge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcBp3wamIU0 Even though, there are some hiccups. Philips is not blocking it, but somehow it’s not easy to connect. Maybe because they are not official partners.

Another interesting point about the Ikea lamps/bulbs/remotes is that they are going to be very cheap compared to the hue ones.

wow, that’s a good player to come to the field. A bit unexpected. I would rather expect electronic companies to join such as Samsung or Sony but we have Ikea instead. Anyhow, it’s not bad news. Exciting future of the connected light is coming.
