bridge registration not working on meethue

Some weeks ago my hue app stopped working in “out of home control” mode. It was unable to log in. Then I removed the bridge from my account and tried to add it again on the meethue website and its not working. I am pushing the button on the bridge like a maniac and the website doesn’t recognize it. If I am on the same wifi network, I am able to control the lights with any application. Only the hue website doesn’t want to connect with my bridge. I tried from phone, from laptop (different browsers), didn’t work. I already tried resetting the bridge as well, still didn’t work. Do u have any idea?

You need to setup port forwarding on your router to get the outside home to work. Unfortunately the bridge only listens on port 80 which some people use for other stuff. Setup a port forwarding rule for any single port between 1024 and 8000 on the public side to port 80 of the IP address of your bridge and you should be good to go. check out number 8 on this webpage which explains it and a way to test if you did it right. http://www.hueproapp.com/support.php
