Yes, with the bulbs almost touching the bridge

None of the app store apps worked for me, but the lamp finder did it.  I already had java despite Apple’s qualms (needed it for work) so adding the lamp finder was not a big deal.  Maybe I had trouble because we bought a starter kit and put the hub and two bulbs in one part of the house, then later tried to use the third bulb with a newer hub in a different room.  Lame that entering the serial number did not do it.  I wonder what the Java app does that App Store apps are not allowed to do.  I already got banned from the Apple Community Forums for installing the Basis Watch app outside the App Store, now they will probably <girk thud>

Does the lamp finder work on wi-fi? I am not having any luck getting my bridge to see the bulbs with any methods even lamp finder. I did not try plugging my laptop into the same router though, I was doing it on wifi.

I ran the lamp finder on a laptop which only had wifi connections (and it found the bulb I could not find other ways).  I did move the bulb from the ceiling fixture it is in now to a lamp I could put next to the hub.  I had already done that while I was still using the Hue app to (fail to) find bulbs. Once the hub discovered it, I moved the bulb back to the ceiling where I want it and added it to a room configuration.
