Can’t connect to hue bridge if connected to access point or switch

If i connect my hue bridge to a network switch or an access point, hue app is unable to connect to the bridge. Hue app only detects when the bridge is directly connected to the main router.

Since my router is setup on a different floor, hue bridge can’t see the bulbs if connected to main router because of distance.

I need a solution where i can connect the bridge to the access point (which happens to be on the same floor as bulbs).

Have you found a fix to this issue yet?

I noticed the same issue !

I have 2 access points on different floors because the original wi-fi extension was not good enough but when I’m downstairs I cannot control the lights because I’m not connected with exactly the same netweork.

It’s very strange because I set up the same SSD, the same channel, the same passrword on different networks…

Pretty disappointing …

I was able to access mine through a switch which was connected to a wired access point (too many devices). Occasionally, my lights would flicker, but when I moved the bridge to the main router, there was still flickering. Luckily, I bought two kits, so I switched over to the unused bridge. We’ll see if that solves my problem.
