Tap on the Alexa menu button, represented by three horizontal lines and located in the upper left-hand corner. When the drop-down menu appears, select the Settings option.
Select the device in question from the list that is shown.
Tap the Update Wi-Fi option.
Select the CONNECT TO WI-FI button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to place your device into setup mode. On the Echo, for example, you would hold down the Action button for about five seconds until the ring on top of the device turned orange. Tap the CONTINUE button when ready.
Depending on your device, the app may now ask you to connect to it via your smartphone’s wireless settings. To do so, follow the on-screen instructions to connect through Wi-Fi to a custom-named Amazon network (i.e., Amazon-1234). As soon as your phone has been successfully connected to your device you will hear a confirmation message, and the app will automatically move on to the next screen.
A Connected to [device name] confirmation message may now be displayed. If so, tap CONTINUE.
A list of available Wi-Fi networks will now be shown within the app itself. Select the network that you wish to pair with your Alexa-enabled device and enter a password if prompted.
The app screen should now read Preparing Your [device name], accompanied by a progress bar.
If the Wi-Fi connection is successfully established you should now see a message stating Setup Complete: [device name] is now connected to Wi-Fi
