Need help connecting Hue Bridge to Network using TP-Link!

So I am trying to use a TP-Link TL-WR802N Nano Router to connect my Hue Bridge to my homes network (which is shared with roommates and the modem is NOT in my own room) but it doesn’t seem to be working. I am setting it up in Client Mode and not changing any of the default setting in the process. I am getting all 3 blue lights on the Bridge light steadily but when I have my phone connected to the same WiFi network that I connected my TP Link to, and try to connect the Bridge to the app, it doesn’t seem to find it at all.

Things to note:

1. Today I did go to a friends house and connected my Bridge straight to their internet modem and got it working perfectly. Upon its first connection the Bridge did have to update itself.

2. My houses WiFi is shared. A bit ago my roommate did have the WiFi changed so that there are 2 different WiFi connections, 1 for him and the other roommate to use, and 1 for just me. The names of the 2 networks are different but I’m not sure the exact details of how that works. This was done due to the fact that now all of us have enough connections for all of our devices. Before, sharing the single WiFi connection was limiting how many total devices we could all use at the same time. I’m not sure if this detail has any bearing on my issue. I would think not since I know that my phone and TP Link are on the same network.

Did you ever figure this out?  I’m having the same problem.
