Newbie question

Hi all,

New to this and tempted in starting up with the bridge and 2 bulbs for our living room.  Firstly, I’m assuming that as our lamps are switched, we would need to leave them on all the time and then allow Hue to control?  Secondly, I think I’ve seen that it’s compatible with Google Assistant so I’m assuming I can use phrases to turn them on and off, but is there a manual override for days when I might not want to talk the phrase.

Hope this makes sense

If you manually turn your light off and on again( on the wall switch) they will light up at 100% normal white light.

Ok thanks, so assume that it needs to be switched on in order for Google Assistant to be able to turn it on

Just wondering if the dimmer switch would work with the starter kit if I didn’t want to use voice
