Old Hue lights, new bridge. Lights not being detected by new bridge.

I’m having trouble migrating my lights (2X colour bulbs bought in 2016 with bridge v1.0), and Hue Go, from my old bridge to my new bridge 2.0.

I’m at fault here – for deleting my old bridge from my Hue app before plugging in the new one. I realize now, that had they both been plugged in, the app would’ve migrated my lights for me. However, since I already deleted bridge v1.0 (which I still have), I have attempted to restart setup.

Bridge 2.0 is able to find my Hue Go which I bought as a set with the bridge itself, but cannot detect my 2016 ver. bulbs. I have signed into HomeKit, out and then into my Hue account again, input the bulb serial numbers to help detection, have downloaded 3rd party ‘Lamp Finder’ on iOS (which was a suggested fix online) but no prevail.

Would anyone here know how to resolve this, or are older Hue bulbs no longer compatible with Bridge 2.0 as a new set-up? Please help!

I am having the same problem — bought a new bridge and my old bulbs can’t be found.  Used every trouble shooting tip I could find.

You may reset your bulbs. Easiest way would with a Hue dimmer or living color switch. In either way you need to hold the remote in contact of the bulb and then:

  • Hue Dimmer: One and Off pressed for 5 sec. simultaniously
  • LivingColorSwitch: (On) and Scene1 Button pressed for 5 sec. simultaniously

Now your bulb should be found as new by your bridge. (Please repeat resetting if not successful. I once needed to do this 4 times in a row.)
